AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami warned Israel over threatening the security of the Persian Gulf, stressing that Tehran will react directly to any possible threat from Tel Aviv.
Hatami said that Iran will not tolerate any threat to the security in the Persian Gulf, and warned Israel that Tehran will not hesitate to give a direct response to any threat from the Zionist regime against regional security.
“The normalization of ties of the UAE and Bahrain with the Zionist regime is a direct threat to the security of the Persian Gulf region,” he said, adding, “Any Israeli threat against the Persian Gulf will face a clear and direct response.”
In relevant remarks in September, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri warned the regional Arab states which have normalized ties with Israel that they should account for any security problem created by the Zionists in the region.
“If the Zionists are stationed in the region and something happens which inflicts even a minimum damage on our national security and defense, we view these countries (which have normalized ties with Israel) as providers of bases to the enemy and will treat them as enemies,” General Baqeri said in an interview with the state TV on Saturday September 26.
He also underlined the unstable situation of Israel and its Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after several months of protest rallies, and said, “Today, if the US stops support for the Zionist regime, the regime will collapse.”
In relevant remarks in August, General Baqeri condemned the UAE’s compromise deal with Israel as an act of treason that will make Tehran start a fundamental revision of its ties with Abu Dhabi, and warned that the slightest threat to Iran's national security in the Persian Gulf will be blamed on the UAE.
“Unfortunately, the UAE has reached a deal to normalize ties with the child-killing Israeli regime,” Baqeri said, warning, “We consider any tension in the region as a consequence of this move."
“Iran will not endure any incident in the Persian Gulf or any threat against its security," the general said.
“It is not acceptable for the UAE, as an Arab and Muslim country, to establish ties with a regime that has trespassed the first Muslim qibla, and has displaced, killed and imprisoned the Palestinian people,” he added.
Major General Baqeri emphasized, “Definitely, the Iranian nation’s approach towards this neighboring state [UAE] will change fundamentally, and the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces will also deal with that country with different calculations.”
"The UAE had better reconsider this decision before it is too late, and leave the path that undermines its own security and the security of the region,” the top commander reiterated.
